The Chicago personal injury lawyers at Morici, Longo & Associates love to participate in events supporting the community. We strongly believe in doing what we can to help those in need, especially when they are our own neighbors. Recently we did just that by sponsoring several charitable golf outings.
Three Separate Golf Events for Good Causes
The first golf outing was the “31st Lake County Building & Construction Trades Annual Golf Outing” on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Highland Park Country Club. Members from our firm stepped in as the main sponsors for the event and stayed throughout the day to hand out fun gifts and raffle prizes to interested visitors. One of the highlights of this event was being able to meet the Illinois State Federation of Labor President, Pete Olson. If you would like to know more about this organization, click here to visit their official website.
The second golf outing event we sponsored was for the McHenry County Building Trades on Friday, August 25 at the Crystal Woods Golf Club. We are happy to say that this golf outing was a huge success. We raffled off Bobby Hull signed jerseys and golf sticks at both outings in addition to the other gifts we distributed to guests on the golf course. To gain some insight about this great organization and the local unions that are a part of it, click here to see their website.
Both of these outings support the “12 Oaks Foundation” which supports kids with cancer, “Dollars Against Diabetes, “Giving Back to the Community” which supply Easter & Thanksgiving dinners to families in need, “YMCA True Patriots Care” which honors troops, responders, and veterans, and “Midwest Veterans Shelter”. Our team at Morici, Longo & Associates has been lucky enough to step in as strong supporters for both of these golf outings for several years. When the President of the McHenry Building Trades, Mr. Robert Passarella, Jr., looks to us for support, he knows he can count on us to be there and contributing. Both Attorney Morici and Attorney Figlioli were even able to get in a round of golf with the tradesmen this year, making the event that much more special.
Finally, we sponsored the Sprinkler Fitters Local 281 – 2017 Charity Golf Outing – “Sprinks Links” held at the Stony Creek Golf Course on Saturday, August 26. Although the “Sprinks Links” outing has been in place for decades, this is the second year that local 281’s golf outing has been a 501©(3) charity. This year, the organization continued to support the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance and their well-known burn camp, Camp “I Am Me,” a summer camp for children who have suffered serious burn injuries. As Local 281’s organization represents a trade dedicated to fire safety, this was the perfect charity to support. Consistent support also goes to the nonprofit organization “Homes for Our Troops,” which provides mortgage-free, specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans nationwide. Part of the money raised through charitable events and donations will go to support Pirates Inc., a nonprofit in Northwest Indiana dedicated to helping special needs children and their families. Endless Thanks from Our Team
From all of us at Morici, Longo & Associates, we would like to give thanks to everyone who came out to these events and the groups that organize them. It feels so great to know that we are surrounded by so many giving and compassionate people in our communities who share the same ideals as we do.
