Both CTA and suburban Pace commuting services have started transitioning to the Ventra system and both services announced that only Ventra cards will be accepted as form of payment.
Ventra is a new payment system that will allow passengers to use a single fare card for regional transit throughout the Chicago area. This will include CTA and Pace bus and train rides.
