Chief Ralph DeBartolo receives the 2010 ISBA “Law Enforcement Man of the Year Award”
Rolling Meadows, Illinois- May 27th, 2010- Illinois State Bar Association President John G. O’brien, and ISBA Governor James J. Morici, Jr. will be presenting Chief Ralph A. DeBartolo, of the Cook County Third Municipal District Courthouse with the prestigious ISBA “Law Enforcement Man of the Year Award” for 2010. The presentation of the award will start at 11:00 am at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse in the State’s Attorneys Conference Room, followed by celebratory festivities.
The ISBA Law Enforcement Man of the Year Award recipients are recognized for their undeniable dedication and service to the entire criminal justice system and their community.
Chief DeBartolo has had a distinguished career serving as a Chicago police officer for more than 32 years and was recognized on multiple occasions for his valor in performance of his duties. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department; for the past nine years has served as Chief of the Cook County Third Municipal District Courthouse.
Chief DeBartolo is affiliated with the Italian American Labor Council and one of the founders of the Italian American Police Officers Association, which he was Chairman of the Board and President for over 27 years.
James J. Morici, Jr. founding partner of the Personal Injury/ Workers’ Compensation firm Morici, Longo & Associates, nominated Chief DeBartolo with highest regards for the award. Morici has known Chief DeBartolo for the past decade and could not have thought of a more deserving individual for the recognition.
